Every Mastro’s from Beverly Hills to New York is a copy of this one. The original opened on Pinnacle Peak Road in 1999 with a 1,500-degree broiler, steaks sizzling on 450-degree plates and a piano lounge full of people dressed to be noticed — the template the family later sold before starting Steak 44 and Dominick’s.
The bone-in ribeye keeps searing on its plate as you eat it, which is either theater or engineering and delicious either way. The warm butter cake is not optional.
When to go: book ahead for prime hours, or skip the booking and take the piano lounge, where the full menu comes with live music.
