Old Town has a hundred bars and almost no pubs. Cornish Pasty Co. fills the gap with a dark, low-key room, British ales and ciders on tap, and hand-crimped pasties roughly the size and density of a football, brought over from Tempe by a Cornwall native in 2013.
Order the Oggie once to calibrate — steak, potato, onion and rutabaga — then go wide. The curries and the vegan pasties are where the crust does its best work.
When to go: weeknights after 9:00 PM, when it turns into the quiet local pub. Friday and Saturday after 10:00 PM bring everyone who just learned the other kitchens closed.
