What is Wolf by Vanderpump?
Wolf by Vanderpump is a television personality’s restaurant on the roof of a casino company’s hotel with no casino, which sounds like a joke about Scottsdale and is in fact one of the better rooftop bars in it. It occupies 6,500 square feet on the seventh floor of Caesars Republic Scottsdale, at 4747 N Goldwater Blvd on the north side of Scottsdale Fashion Square, and held its grand opening on December 16, 2025.
The name on the door is Lisa Vanderpump, and this is her second Wolf; the first is at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe in Stateline, Nevada. The interiors are by Vanderpump Alain, her design partnership with Nick Alain: a dramatic central bar, bespoke furnishings, layered textures and statement lighting, built around a wolf idea the brand describes as bold, intelligent, playful and loyal. It fits the hotel, whose own icon is a wolf, La Lupa, and whose slogan is “Unleash Your Alter Ego.” The windows face Camelback Mountain.
It is really three rooms on two floors. The seventh floor holds the restaurant and the Wolf Lounge. The eighth floor holds the Camelback Veranda, a 3,839-square-foot open-air terrace with a 180-degree view, remodeled to serve Wolf’s cocktails and open for drinks only from 3 to 10 p.m. And the WOLF Pool, the hotel’s seventh-floor rooftop pool, runs weekend parties with full bar service under a billing, “Scottsdale’s only rooftop pool and bar,” that The REMI. and the W would dispute.
Our honest verdict: the Veranda is the best thing here and one of the best golden-hour seats in the city; the restaurant is a celebrity room, priced like one, with cocktails that are the real craft. The rooftop guide and our list of every bar and club in Scottsdale both file it under “a view.”
Veranda first, dinner second
Start on the eighth floor. The Camelback Veranda pours daily from 3 to 10 p.m., beverages only, with happy hour from 3 to 6. It has fire pits, VIP seating and the straight-on mountain view the hotel built the tower for, and on Friday and Saturday nights the hotel runs Sunset Sessions from 7 to 10. The space holds about 200 for private events, so on a wedding weekend check that it is open to the public before you ride up. Then eat downstairs, if you are eating. Wolf serves lunch daily from 11 to 3, a limited lounge menu from 3 to 4, and dinner from 4 to 10, with the bar open to 11 Sunday through Thursday and to midnight Friday and Saturday. The menu reimagines favorites from the Lake Tahoe room and adds dishes created for Scottsdale; at the opening the plates making the rounds were churros, goat cheese balls, tuna tostadas and yucca fries, and the Tahoe original is known for lobster ceviche crisps, caviar-topped chips and tableside prime rib sliders. The cocktail program is built on desert-inspired ingredients and theatrical presentations. The hotel lists the dress code as business casual; the phone is (480) 914-6827, and reservations run through the Wolf site.
Mind the critics. Scottsdale Spot’s February 2026 rooftop ranking put Wolf fourth in the city, called the Veranda its real draw, logged a 4.3 on OpenTable, and noted that some of the cocktails arrived premixed. We would order the ones that come with a show and judge for ourselves.
Use the pool on purpose. The WOLF Pool runs rooftop parties with cabanas, DJs on season weekends and full bar service; midweek it is a quiet observatory with a Camelback view. Our pool and day pass guide covers how to get in without a room.
Know the building. Luna by Giada is on the first floor with its own bar happy hour from 3 to 5, and a second-floor walkway leads straight into Fashion Square. Park in the mall’s garages or valet at the tower; WM Phoenix Open week fills both. Our happy hour guide lists the 3-to-6 window here beside the rest of Old Town’s.
A casino brand without a casino, and a wolf on the roof
Caesars Republic Scottsdale was five years in the making. HCW, the developer and owner led by Rick Huffman, broke ground in March 2020 on the mall’s north side, on what one speaker at the opening called “the old rodeo grounds,” and stopped work ten days later as the pandemic arrived. The licensing deal with Caesars had been struck with Macerich, the mall’s owner, under its then-president Ed Coppola, who, Huffman said, “didn’t want a Hilton. He didn’t want a Marriott.” The tower opened on March 6, 2024, 22 days ahead of schedule: 11 stories, 265 rooms, two pools, three restaurants, four bars, 20,000 square feet of event space and Giada De Laurentiis on the ground floor. Caesars Entertainment’s first U.S. hotel with no gaming was a bet that the brand travels without the tables.
The roof was the gap. The seventh-floor pool deck and the eighth-floor veranda opened with the hotel, but the restaurant level above the pool took longer to fill. In July 2025 the answer was announced: Lisa Vanderpump, whose Lake Tahoe Wolf had opened in another Caesars Republic, would bring the concept to Scottsdale. The December 16 grand opening drew about 500 people across the restaurant, the pool and the Veranda, among them designer Bobby Berk and cast members from Vanderpump Villa and Vanderpump Rules. “It’s just wonderful to be in Scottsdale, we’ve been so embraced and supported by the community,” Vanderpump said, calling the room “a labor of love.” Dinner started that week; lunch followed after Christmas.
The timing matters. The 2020s have moved Scottsdale’s bar scene upward, from the second-floor WET Deck of 2008 to Outrider’s seventh floor in 2020, this hotel’s seventh and eighth in 2024, and The REMI.’s twelfth in 2025. The rooftop claims that each makes against the others, highest pool, only pool and bar, best view, are the sound of a district with more roofs than it had five years ago. Wolf’s advantage in that fight is not height but the sightline: the tower sits far enough west that Camelback fills the window without a building in the way.
Honest assessment: this is a celebrity restaurant that happens to be attached to a genuinely good terrace. Treat the Veranda as the destination, the dining room as an option and the pool as a summer plan, and it is worth the elevator. Treat it as a temple to Vanderpump and you will pay temple prices for churros.
