A genuinely French bistro, run by French owners, in a Via Linda shopping plaza that gives nothing away from the parking lot. The cooking is the canon without irony or resort markup, and with Francine’s gone, it’s one of the few properly French rooms left in Scottsdale.
Open with the escargot and judge the kitchen by the duck confit, which holds up. Ask about the specials; they tend to be classics you haven’t seen on an Arizona menu in years.
When to go: a weeknight, when walk-ins have a chance. It’s closed Mondays, and weekend tables in season go to the regulars first.
