Village started roasting its own beans in a McCormick Ranch plaza in 1996, when most of Scottsdale still drank diner drip. It outlasted the chain wave, watched the third-wave roasters show up late to its own idea, and never rebranded to chase either.
The order is plain: ask what was roasted that week and have it brewed. The espresso drinks are honest rather than theatrical, and the room works as the neighborhood’s living room, so stay a while.
When to go: mid-morning on a weekday, once the commuters clear and the regulars settle in. It’s also the right fuel stop before a greenbelt ride.
