Market Street has plenty of places to spend steakhouse money. The Living Room, in the corner building where Armitage Wine Lounge opened in 2004, is where DC Ranch drinks well without it: a wall of about 30 self-serve dispensers, a list north of 200 bottles and a wraparound patio.
The menu runs from sushi to steak on purpose, so a table of five appetites can agree. The real order is three small pours from three regions, then a proper glass of the winner.
When to go: happy hour, 3:00 to 6:00 PM, on a Thursday — the band sets up as the sun drops behind the McDowells. Book for weekend brunch and music nights.
