Most North Scottsdale nightlife happens at street level under a lot of LED. Tell Your Friends goes the other way. It sits two flights beneath The Americano, reached through an unmarked side door and a stairwell that feels like a fire exit, and opens into 52 seats of crimson velvet, disco balls and a small stage where a live jazz combo works Thursday through Sunday nights.
The Flapper Fizz, vodka and champagne, is the house opener and the right one. After that let the bar steer by spirit. Food comes down from The Americano’s kitchen, so oysters and a couple of small plates are a real option, not an afterthought. Reservations are online and, as of this writing, close to mandatory.
When to go: a Thursday or Sunday set, when the band starts at 7:00 PM and the room is conversational. Friday and Saturday run later and louder. The bar is dark Monday and Tuesday.
