Arizona assumes Chicago pizza means deep dish. The Spinato family has spent about fifty years politely correcting that with tavern-style thin crust — crisp, square-cut, sauce-forward — and this location at The Block puts it minutes from Talking Stick and Salt River Fields.
The spinach pie is the order: creamy garlic-spinach sauce standing in for tomato, which sounds like a compromise and eats like comfort food. The corner squares are all crunch.
When to go: an off night, or 5:30 PM on game days. In March, spring training crowds fill the room before and after every game at Salt River Fields.
