Most wine bars make you commit to a glass before you know what you like. Sorso, the anchor wine bar of Scottsdale Quarter, hands you a card and a wall of enomatic machines pouring dozens of wines by the ounce. It’s the cheapest wine education in the Valley and, somewhat unexpectedly, a very good group night out.
Taste six wines for the price of two glasses, crown a winner, then order a board and a flatbread so the tasting turns into an evening.
When to go: early evening on the patio before the Quarter’s dinner rush. Weekends skew toward birthday flocks, which is either the appeal or the warning.
