Old Town has no shortage of bars pretending to be cowboy saloons. The Rusty Spur has been an actual one since 1951, pouring inside the 1921 Farmers State Bank with dollar bills stapled to every surface and live country playing every day of the week, never with a cover.
Keep the order simple — a longneck and a burger — and let the band do the rest. John Wayne drank here, and the room has seen no pressing reason to redecorate since.
When to go: weekday afternoons, when the band starts early and the dance floor belongs to locals and snowbirds rather than the weekend crowd.
