Scottsdale sushi tends to split into conveyor-belt cheap or special-occasion expensive. OBON, the Tucson import that landed at Scottsdale Quarter in 2017, sits in the useful middle: sushi, ramen and pan-Asian street food, with maki that borrows Southeast Asian accents instead of pretending to be an omakase counter.
Split a ramen and a few rolls across the table. Purists can go elsewhere; everyone else eats well on a sensible tab, and eats even better on a discounted one.
When to go: weekday afternoons for happy hour. Weekends around the Quarter’s shopping and movie peaks are the busiest window.
