Must order: A specialty benedict and the red velvet pancakes for the table

Old Town brunch comes with a parking garage and a crowd of visitors. Eggstasy delivers the same maximalist energy in a Shea Boulevard strip center with free parking thirty seconds from the door, which is most of the argument right there.

The benedicts are the franchise — the further they stray from ham and hollandaise, the better. The red velvet pancakes are the showpiece, and the morning-cocktail list makes a 10:00 AM mimosa feel like participation.

When to go: weekdays, or before 9:00 AM on weekends. Between nine and noon on Saturday, the wait is the price of admission.
