Old Town sports bars charge game-day prices for the privilege of shouting over a DJ. Duke’s, run by the same father and daughter at Miller and McDowell since 1998, is the neighborhood version: a few dozen TVs, pool and shuffleboard, and a big dog-friendly patio backing onto the Vista del Camino disc golf course.
It is not a gastropub and doesn’t pretend otherwise. Order the ribs, check the weekly specials, and pay 85257 prices for the beer.
When to go: it opens at noon daily, which makes it the post-spring-training stop that isn’t thirty dollars a round. Claim a patio table before kickoff on football Sundays.
