Scottsdale has no shortage of steakhouses charging top dollar for prime beef. Dominick’s, the Mastro family’s Scottsdale Quarter entry since 2011, offers something the others can’t: a rooftop pool deck where you eat in a cabana two stories above Scottsdale Road. Absurd on paper, excellent at dusk.
The menu is traditional big-steakhouse — prime and wagyu cuts, classic sides at scale, a deep wine list. The roof is the reason to pick it over the competition.
When to go: spring and fall evenings, when the roof is at its best. Winter season, spring training and Phoenix Open week book up well ahead; the bar takes walk-ins.
